God's Presence at HoPE

This past week was the August installment of the 24 hours of worship and intercession. July and August are tough months to schedule in because so many people are away on vacation.

August offered its share of schedule conflicts, cancellations and substitutions, so it seemed to be rather choppy in terms of how it all unfolded.

The following Tuesday (Aug. 25) I was at the monthly team meeting of the Marketplace Chapel ministries and God had a wonderful surprise in store: Two of the ladies who are part of the Blessing Widows ministry had held an open house for that ministry on the Saturday of the 24 hours of prayer and they both expressed how powerful the Presence of God was in the chapel when they arrived.

Helen Smith said that when she came to set up for the open house, there was such a distinct sense of God in the chapel that she was deeply impacted! She went on to say how much she appreciated the ministry of HoPE.

This is a powerful reminder about the importance that the Lord places on the 24 hours of prayer. Even in the midst of an administratively challenging weekend, God's Spirit was still manifest and touching lives who came to the chapel.

That same Tuesday (Aug. 25) one of the team members spontaneously ended up leading a young woman to the Lord, during a break when she visited the washroom!!

It's true that the prayers of the saints are like sweet smelling incense to the Lord!!
